The story behind the design — Hamburg, 4 April 1936

A memorial stands in the garden of St Georg Hospital in Hamburg, unveiled on 4 April 1936: the Monument to the X-ray and Radium Martyrs of All Nations. It honours the doctors, physicists, chemists, technicians, laboratory assistants and nurses who died of their occupational exposure in the first decades of the work. It went up carrying 169 names from fifteen countries. By 1959 there were 359.

They learned about dose the only way it was available to be learned. The apron is what they bought you. Wear it.
